The Great Controversy – a Monumental Audio Dramatization

At Taine Multimedia, we believe that sound has the power to transport the listener through time and space. We have recently completed one of the most ambitious projects in our portfolio: a 12-episode audio dramatization based on the work of author Lucian Cristescu, inspired by “The Great Controversy” by Ellen G. White.

Technical and Creative Challenge

The project a massive deployment of resources spanning over 2 years, with the goal of recreating the quality standards of BBC radio productions from the ’80s and ’90s. Each 30-minute episode was treated as a standalone cinematic unit.

Production stages in detail: 

  • Casting and Voice Acting: We collaborated with an impressive cast of professional actors to cover dozens of historical and contemporary characters. 
  • Sound Design from Scratch: We created authentic soundscapes to illustrate the struggle between good and evil, from the bustle of medieval markets to the tension of theological debates. 
  • Musical Composition: Original music was specifically written to support the dramatic narrative. 
  • Complex Post-production: Mixing and mastering were performed entirely in our studio for both the Romanian and English versions.

The Subject: Between History and Prophecy

The dramatization explores key moments in history, such as the controversies between the Catholic and Protestant churches, offering a deep politico-religious perspective on the events that shaped the world.
